Working principle:
The working principle of the drum dryer is to allow liquid or slurry materials to form a thin film on the drum surface heated by water vapor or other heat carriers. The drum is dried during one rotation. The product is scraped off with a scraper, and the exposed drum surface contacts the raw material again and forms a thin film for drying.
Basic overview:
The rotating drum passes through its lower material trough, adhering to a thick material film. The heat is transported to the inner wall of the drum through the pipeline, conducted to the outer wall of the drum, and then conducted to the material film, so that the moisture in the material film is evaporated and dehumidified, so that the wet material is dried. The dried material is scraped off the drum by the scraper installed on the surface of the drum, and then to the screw conveyor placed under the scraper. The dry material is then concentrated and packaged by the screw conveyor.
Performance characteristics:
1. High drying rate: Since the material film is very thin and the heat and mass transfer directions are consistent, the surface of the material film can maintain a vaporization intensity of 30-70kg..H2O (m².h);
2. High operational flexibility: Wide adaptability, can meet the requirements of a variety of materials and different outputs.;
3. High thermal efficiency: Its general thermal efficiency is about 80-90%;
4. Short drying time: The drying cycle of the material is generally only 10-300 seconds, which is suitable for heat-sensitive materials. If the drum dryer is set in a vacuum device, it can be operated under reduced pressure.
Scope of use:
Suitable for drying liquid and viscous materials in industries such as chemicals, dyes, pharmaceuticals, food, metallurgy, and yeast. Widely used in: drying finished products of foods such as rice flour, oatmeal, α starch, and potato flour into flakes, powders, and granules.
Maintenance:
1. Regularly check the rotation flexibility of rotating parts and whether there is a jam. Grease should be added to sprockets and other parts regularly, and the errors of measuring devices such as pressure gauges should be corrected regularly. If the V-belt transmission parts are seriously worn, they should be replaced in time.
